What is the philosophy behind a successful business? Most of the business analysts are united on this statement that business success depends on the satisfied customers. Michael leboeuf, a world renowned consultant says the same. Question arises how a customer can be made happier? This is also related in case of LMS customers. In LMS, we have LMS customers and LMS course developers and how they can be made happy customers. The answer lies that any process that is performed according to some rules and guidelines is free of problems and hiccups resulting in happy customers. Scorm is also used in making the online e learning customers happy. The LMS industry is on its verge of expansion and there is tough competition that the industry is facing from enterprise resource planning firms, consulting firms, training outsourcing firms, and LMS product vendors. People are not satisfied with the service of LMS reported via e learning guide. According to results of pole people are reporting some integration problems and other are reporting lack of IT support. This short fall in LMS can be an advantage for the small vendors to come up with the solution and make their way to the market. To solve this issue, authorities decided to standardise the LMS and this was done through formulation of some standards that are now called Scorm, sharable content object reference model. United state department of defence sponsored the project. The first Scorm version was the Scorm 1.1 and then there was Scorm 1.2 that is supported by many LMS today. New versions of Scorm are there to keep them updated and include Scorm 2004 and Scorm 2006. Scorm made the life of many people associated wit the LMS business easier. As with this standard it is now easy to upload course material for course developers and also beneficial for the learners. The users report fast and easy processing now.
